First Sonos speaker with built-in voice control revealed

Sonos’ first foray into voice control speakers has been revealed. The speaker is a slim rounded cube with impressive sound, a plethora of streaming services, and most importantly a voice assistant.

The Sonos One will support Alexa and Google Assistant sometime in the early next year. The device will also pair with additional Sonos One speakers to allow for Stereo sound.

As the company suggested earlier this year, the One is the first Sonos speaker to natively support voice assistants. Since Sonos is continually updating with new features, services and skills, your music and voice options will both keep getting better over time.

The company says they kept privacy in mind stating, “An illuminated LED indicator light ensures you always know when your speaker’s microphone is active. Or turned off. Sonos One is designed with extra security — the hard-wire LED connection ensures no one is listening when you want privacy.”
